The evocative atmosphere of a country of the past, through the old streets of Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Meknes, Marrakech. Eight days to discover a part of the Maghreb that amazes all travelers, including mountains, oases, deserts and imperial cities.
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech, transfer to the riad.
Arrival at Marrakech airport, transfer to the riad. In the afternoon we will go out to visit the medina of Marrakech and the places of interest, such as the Saadian tombs, the museum of Marrakech, the Madrasah, the palaces of the Bay, El Badi and the Majoreles gardens. In the afternoon, visit to the Djemaa el Fna square. At this time of the afternoon it is a great time to do it, since the square is filled with jugglers, reciters, fortune tellers, toothpicks, dancers, snake charmers, among many other picturesque characters, in addition to its famous juice vendors. At dusk, small illuminated food stands begin to be set up outdoors, where you can try a bite of the most typical and traditional local food. Riad night and dinner.
Day 2: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddo - Ouarzazate - Valley of the Roses - Dades
Departure after breakfast crossing the High Atlas through the port of Tizi Ntichka (2,260m altitude), passing Berber villages to reach the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a world heritage site. Free time to visit the kasbah, have lunch in the town and then continue to Ouarzazate, visit to the city of cinema. Then we will continue south to the Valley of the Roses and the Dades Gorges. Dinner and hotel accommodation.
Day 3: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
Exit on a road dotted with Kasbahs all different. After several stops we will reach one of the strengths of the South: the Gorges of Todra. The channel of the Todra river has formed a gorge of vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty 322 M of altitude, it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. We continue south. Free lunch on the way, and then we will go into the desert until we reach the impressive dunes of Merzouga. In the afternoon we will return to the Erg Chebbi, tour in dromedaries that await us to cross the dunes, to see the sunset and spend an unforgettable night in the heart of the desert. Dinner and accommodation in typical Berber tents.
Day 4: Merzouga - Fez
Breakfast, we will have the opportunity to attend the beautiful sunrise show over the sea of dunes. Breakfast and we go to Rissani. Located 22 km from Erfud, in a palm grove, Rissani is attractive both for its surroundings and for its history and has several interesting monuments. It is considered as the heir to the mythical Sidjilmasa, the former capital of Tafilalet. Next, we will go to the scientific city of the country crossing the mountains of the Middle Atlas. Day 5: Fez
We will dedicate the whole day to know Fez. Visit of the golden doors of the Royal Palace, built by the masters in bronze. We will visit the old Medina with its Medersa de Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, one of the most beautiful in the medina, the Karaouine Mosque that houses one of the main cultural centers of Islam and is the seat of the University of Fez, and the Mausoleum by Moulay Idriss. We will stop at the famous tanners' quarter, unique in the world. Stop for lunch, (not included). In the afternoon we continue visiting Fez, with its artisan neighborhoods divided by guilds. Accommodation and dinner at the riad.
Day 6: Fez – Meknes - Rabat
Early breakfast and we head towards Rabat. Arrival in Rabat: known as the City of Gardens. It is the administrative capital of Morocco. It is, at the same time, a modern and traditional city, a dynamic mix of ancient and modern culture. Surrounded by colorful slopes and mountains. The city itself is elegant with its harmonious gardens. Dinner and accommodation in Riad.
Day 7: Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
After breakfast we will visit Casablanca and the famous mosque on the sea: the Hassan II mosque. Arrival in the afternoon in Marrakech.
Day 8: Airport
Day 1: Tangier - Tetouan - Chefchaouen
Arrival in Tangier and pick up at the port or airport of the same city. Departure to Chauen and stop in Tetuán, the Spanish city. Arrival in Chefchaouen. We will leave for a visit to the city. We will walk through its streets and between its old blue and white houses, and also we will contemplate its panoramic views. Bed and breakfast at the hotel and dinner in the Plaza de Chauen.
Day 2: Chaouen - Roman Ruins - Meknez- Fez
We leave for Fes, the Rif forest borders. Arrival at the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis We will visit the ruins with a local guide (optional). We will continue to Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to Sultan Mulay Ismail. Visit of the palace and the famous gate of Bab Mansour, Dar EL Maa and the Barn. Then we continue to Fes.
Day 3: Fez
Entire day devoted to the discovery of the intellectual city of the kingdom. There are many that you can visit: Medersas (Koranic schools): Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (first university in the world).
Day 4: Fez - Ifrane- Azrou- Monkey Forest -Erfoud- Desert
From Fez we will go to the Middle Atlas, to visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next town will be Azrou "the rock", a Berber town known for its crafts, carpets and wooden sculptures, then arrival in Midelt. Follow the path through the Tizi Talghemt or Cuello del Camello, at 1,907 meters above sea level. The relief is impressive, the mountains are completely bare, clad in a purple coat. Arrival in Errachidia and journey through the Tafilalet massif to the Erfoud palm grove. Direction to the desert. Night in the Berber jaimas camp.
Day 5: Erg Chebbi- Desert- Rissani- Gorges of Todra- Valley of Roses- Palm Grove of Skoura- Ouarzazate
Exit on the road to the palm grove of Rissani and Jorf located on the right bank of the Ziz, then to the Ksar de Touroug, framed by spectacular oases. We will then pass through Tinejdad before reaching Tinerhir. After lunch we will walk through the Gorges of Todra. Then we will go through the beautiful Boulmane Dades valley visiting Kelaa Me Gouna, the Valley of the Roses, in full splendor during the month of May. Arrival in Ouarzazate, possibility to visit the kasbah of Taourirt that was the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech.
Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou- Talouet- Marrakech
We will go to Marrakech through the Tiz-in-Tichka neck (2260m), the "neck of the pastures". The slope is made by an alternative track with the option of visiting the famous kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a castle declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Then we continue our route to the Capital of the Pachá in Marrakech. Visit of his palace located in the kasbah of Talouet. We take the road of the curves of the port of Tichkaque that offers a spectacular panorama with many colors on the plain of Haouz. Arrival in Marrakech.
Day 7: Marrakech
In the morning visit of this imperial city that gave Morocco its name. It stretches out before the majestic Atlas with its snowy peaks for much of the year. Its destiny is linked to that of the different dynasties that followed one another and its tradition of political, economic and cultural metropolis has always dominated the history of the Maghreb. Marrakech is also the city of spectacle, where there is a permanent party as you can see in the famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which for centuries has been the most incredible popular theater in the world: snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, fortune tellers , actors, fortune tellers ...
