Wonders of Morocco

Day 1: Tanger – Tetuan - Chauen

Arrival in Tanger and transfer from the port  or airport to Chauen, stop in Tetuan, a Spanish city, and arrival in Chauen. Visit to the city of Chauen. Sightseeing around its streets and its old white and blue-painted houses. Accommodation and breakfast in a hotel and dinner at Chauen’s main square.

Day  2: Chaouen – Roman Ruins - Meknez- Fez

Today we go to Fes, passing by the Rif’s woods. Arrival at the Roman ruins of Volubilis. We visit the ruins with a local guide (optional). Then, we go to Meknes, a city that was at its height at the time of Sultan Mulay Ismail. Visit to the palace and the famous Bab Mansour gate, Dar EL Maa and the Barn. After that, we continue to Fes.

Day 3: Fez

A whole day to discover the intellectual city of the Kingdom. There are several landmarks you can visit - Medersas (Koranic schools), Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin, Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (first university of the world).

Day 4: Fez - Ifrane- Azrou- Forest of the monkeys -Erfoud- Desert

Today we go from Fez to the Middle Atlas, visit Ifrane, known as Africa’s Switzerland. After that, Azrou, "the Rock". It is a little Berber town well known for its craftsmanship, rugs and wooden sculptures. Arrival in Midelt. We continue along the Tizi Talghemt or “Camel Neck”, (1,907 metres high). An amazing topography, incredible purple-tinted mountains. Arrival in Errachidia. Then we cross the Tafilalet mountain range to visit the palm grove of Erfoud. Overnight in Berber haimas.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi Desert - Rissani- Todra Gorge – The Rose Valley - Skoura Palm Grove -  Ouarzazate

Today we go to the palm grove of Rissani and Jorf, located on the right shore of the Oed Ziz, after that we head for the Ksar of Touroug, in the middle of amazing oasis. Then, we visit Tinejdad and arrive in Tinerhir. After lunch, we discover the Todra Gorge. After that, the wonderful Boulmane Dades Valley and a sightseeing tour in Kelaa Me Gouna – the Rose Valley-, with all its splendor in May. Arrival in Ouarzazate, we have the option to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of the Pacha of Marrakech.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou- Talouet- Marrakech

We will go to Marrakech via Tiz-in-Tichka (2,260 metres). Descend through an alternative track and optional visit to the famous Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, World Heritage site by UNESCO. After that, we continue to the Capital of the Pacha of Marrakech and visit the palace, located in the Kasbah of Talouet. Down the road of the Tichkaque port with an amazing view of the different colors of Haouz. Arrival in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech

In the morning, sightseeing tour of the city, which gave its name to Morocco. It lies at the foot of the Atlas, with its snow-covered peaks. This city is related to the different dynasties that ruled the country. Traditionally, a political, economic and cultural city, Marrakech is also a city full of entertainment, as it can be seen in the famous Jemaa el Fna Square, an incredible place that has not changed in centuries. Snake charmers, musicians, dancers, fortune-tellers, story-tellers, actors…

Among the most important landmarks to visit - Medersa Ben Yussef, the Menara, the Dar Si Said Museum, the Agdal Garden, the Saadian Tombs and the palaces of Badia and Bahia. Free time in the afternoon, dinner in Jemaa el Fna Square. Accommodation in a Riad.

Day 8: End of the tour

Day 1: Marrakech

Transfer from the airport to the hotel. Accommodation and breakfast.

Day 2: Marrakech- Ksar Telouet Ait Benhaddou- Ouarzazate

Sightseeing Marrakech: we start at the Menara, visit the XII century pond. The majestic minaret of the Kutubia. Visit to the Saadian Tombs. We end in the Jemaa el Fna square, World Heritage site. After that, we head for the High Atlas towards the Tizi N’Tichka, and we reach one of the most important spots of the tour - the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, World Heritage site by UNESCO, it the most important ksar (kasbah-alcazaba, a fortress) of South Morocco. Its reddish color changes according to the light and time of the day, with several towers, it melts into the landscape. It is well preserved and it was used to shoot several movies. Stroll down the narrow streets and visit the old top tower and enjoy the views of the Atlas. We continue to Ouarzazate, passing by some little villages with terrace farming. Accommodation and dinner in a Riad.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Erfoud – Todra Gorge - Desert

Breakfast at the hotel. We go to Kelaa of Mguna, famous little town where a particular rose variety is cultivated. We go through the “route of the Kasbahs”, a number of fortresses of adobe with crenellated towers and raw-brick ornaments. The old kasbahs together with the sceneries will touch you with their strong contrasts. This is one of the most attractive and requested routes of Morocco. After that, we continue to a place of natural beauty – the Todra Gorge. We continue to the desert. The road gets more difficult. We are in the land of the desert people. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 4: Desert – Rissani - Fez

Breakfast. Optional: to observe the sunrise in the middle of a sea of sand dunes. We continue to Rissani. 22 kilometres far from Erfud, in a palm grove, Rissani is an attractive city because of the beautiful surroundings and its history. There are several interesting landmarks to see. It is considered the heir to the mythical Sidjilmasa, former capital of Tafilalet. After that, we continue to the scientific city of the country, crossing over the Atlas Mountains. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 5: Fez


Whole day to discover Fez. Visit to the golden gates of the Royal Palace, the old Medina with its Medersa of Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, one of the most beautiful of the medina, the Karaouine Mosque, one of the main cultural centres of Islam and headquarters of Fez University, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. We make a stop in the leather tanners’ district, a unique place. Lunch (not included). We continue visiting Fez in the afternoon, the artisans’ district. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 6: Zagora – Dakar tracks - Ouzina Desert "280 KM TRACK"

Breakfast. We go through fertile valleys full of olive trees and vineyards to Meknes. Sightseeing tour of the city. It was at its height under the rule of Mulay Ismail. We start the visit at the city walls, and its wonderful gates such as Bab Manssur. After that, the pond of Aghal. Finally, the Mausoleum-Mosque of Moulay Ismail, made of plaster, stone and fine porcelain. Then, we continue to the city of Rabat. Capital city of the Kingdom of Morocco since 1912. Visit to the Royal Palace. “Dar el Makhzen”. An amazing group of buildings with a modern palace, a great mosque built by the “Men of Fez” and different governmental buildings. Then, we visit the Kasbah of the Oudaias. A magnificent view of the BouRegreg estuary. The Mohamed V Mausoleum. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 7: Rabat – Casablanca - Marrakech

Breakfast. Then, we go to Casablanca. This city will always remind us of the famous movie starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Sightseeing tour of the city. We start at the Corniche Boulevard, the seafront promenade and then the coast road that leads to Anfa, a residential area with magnificent villas. We finish our itinerary in the great Mosque of Hassan II. The visit inside the mosque is optional. It is the most representative XX century landmark of the country. We take the motorway to Marrakech. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 8: Marrakech - Airport

Breakfast and transfer to Marrakech Airport.

The Route of the Coast

Day 1: Marrakech

Arrival at Menara Airport of Marrakech and transfer to your Riad. Check-in and sightseeing around the city, the souk, the Jemaa el Fna Square, the Saadian Tombs and Majorelle Gardens . Back to the hotel. Free time in the afternoon and evening. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2: Marrakech - Asni- Ouirgane- Tizi- nTest- Taroudant

From Marrakech to Taroudant through a narrow road. We enter the Oued N´Fis Valley, hometown of the Almohads (Berber empire of North Africa that dominated Spain during the Muslim domination, XII century). In the last 15 kilometres we reach the Tizi-n-Test pass, 2,100 metres high. A wonderful view of the desert and the fortressed city of Taroudant. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 3: Taroudant - Chtouka Ait Baha- Tafraoute

We go across an area of argan and olive trees and get to the Anti Atlas, centre of production of copper. The desert landscape is dominated by minerals, with terrace fields of almond trees in full bloom in February.

Day 4: Tafraoute – Goulmin- Sidi Ifni-  Gzira Beach

We cross over the Tizi Kerdous port (1,100 metres high) and make a stop to enjoy the magnificent views of the ocean and the Anti Atlas. We descent to the little village of Gloumin, to see its colorful market. We continue along a road by the sea to  Sidi Ifni . Free time for sightseeing. Accommodation in an inn on Gzira beach.

Day 5: Gzira Beach - Tiznite - Agadir- Essaouira

We  go through a big forest and reach the famous city of the silver. Visit to the medina. We discover Si, a little fishing village. Not far from there, there is a magnificent natural beach where we can go for a swim. Arrival at Essaouira. In the afternoon, visit to Mogador. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 6: Essaouira- Mogador

Free time in the morning for sightseeing and shopping or relaxation in Essaouira, or for a walk in the medina, the defenses and the port. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 7: Essaouira – Marrakech

In the morning, we   go back to Marrakech. We travel along a road across the plains of Marrakech (Haouz), a fertile area full of argan trees and goat herds. We pass by Chichaoua. Arrival in the red city. Accommodation in a hotel.

Day 8: End of the trip

Transfer to Marrakech Airport.
